Advertising Age is now accepting submissions for its annual Media Mavens honors recognizing the people who are shaping (and reshaping) media and marketing today. Who do you think should be recognized in the class of 2016? Previous honorees include a TV chief pushing his network forward, an auto marketer deftly steering her brand toward new groups of consumers, the CEO of a platform where millions of people watch others play video games, the M&A scout responsible for investing $500 million in startups for a major publishing company, a YouTube star, a packaged-goods marketer leading his company into programmatic media buying, visionary TV and web video programmers, cutting-edge researchers, print publishers setting an example for transformation, and influential figures at media and creative agencies.
The Media Mavens list recognizes both high-profile leaders and under-the-radar innovators steadily making a mark, from all the sectors touching media. That’s where you come in. We’re seeking names that many people may not have heard yet plus cases for well-known executives tackling key challenges in creative ways. In both instances, we want to see examples of meaningful or measurable accomplishments within the last 12 months. You may also include testimonials from others endorsing your candidate.
The submission deadline is 11:59 p.m. ET on Aug. 8 and there is a $125 fee for nominations.
A team of editors will review all the submissions, research candidates and seek input from staff reporters on the final decisions.
The staff may also consider candidates that were not nominated.
Winners will be notified by mid-September and a special Media Issue of Advertising Age honoring the Media Mavens class of 2016 both in print and online will publish Sept. 26.
